Our Mission is to operate a visitor centre that preserves the industrial heritage of its site and structures, while telling their story and keeping the Watermill building alive with charm and character, offering a warm welcome for Skerries residents and visitors from far and wide.

Skerries Mills is a charming heritage site, the Watermill building is bustling day to day with a range of activities.

At the heart of it all, are the freshly baked goods served in the WaterMill Café, with its community café ethos and old mill character.

History of the Mills

Skerries Mills opened as a community heritage centre in June 1999. Our history dates back to the founding of a monastic site here in around AD795. The history of milling here dates from around AD1100.
