We will be happy to answer any questions and help you organise a day out to remember in Skerries. Access to the Windmills and Watermill is by escorted tour only. We are unable to grant access outside of the guided tours.

We are open every day except, St Patrick’s Day, December 24th-27th, and December 31st-January 1st.

You may access the facilities and collect your tickets from 9.45 am.

The Site is accessible by guided tour only, our tours run every day year-round. However, the Watermill building is open to all, with a gallery space, cafe, and some site interpretations.

Yes, entrance with a Go City Pass/Explorer Pass includes the tour, tea or coffee, and a freshly baked scone.

Tickets can be reserved by phone or email, and held until 30 minutes before the tour.

Much of the tour is outdoors, and tours are canceled only in extreme weather conditions, if a tour should ever not go ahead, a full refund will be processed.

Dress appropriately for outdoors, with flat footwear for moderate walking.

Our tours currently run in English, we offer information leaflets to visitors in 6 languages

Allow 1 hour for your guided tour, we recommend having 1-2 hours for the visit.

2 Adults and 2 Children of 16 years or younger. The tour is not suitable for toddlers. Children must be supervised at all times.

Person’s who require full-time care will require a paid tour ticket, however, their care attendant can access a complimentary ticket by booking in at Reception. Always check the accessibility page before booking.

We can store your larger pieces of luggage while you are on tour (tour ticket holders only) up to a maximum of 2 hours, giving you time to explore the café, gallery area, and community garden luggage-free.

If you need to cancel your tour, with more than 24 hours notice we can process a refund. Otherwise, we will endeavor to change the tour time to suit you. We are a small organisation with small numbers of tickets for each day.

Assistance dogs only are permitted inside the building, without exception.

If you wish to make a booking for the Watermill Cafe, a set menu will be offered. Please note we do accept bookings between 1 pm and 2 pm.

We offer gluten-free options and cater to various dietary requirements. Our menu offers a range of salads, sandwiches, soups and specials, and an all-day breakfast.

Gift vouchers available in the Craft Shop can be used in the shop, the Watermill Cafe, and for tour tickets.

Please see our accessibility page. There is a playpark located beside our car park which offers family-friendly parking. The guided tour is not suitable for children 5 years and under.

Accessibility

Our experience is in a historic mill, the premises were created for milling, grinding, drying of corn and barley, and of course baking. The building comprises three levels. Our outdoor dining terrace is located at ground level and fully accessible. The Cafe and Craft Shop are on the second floor as is the gallery space. The bookshop is on the third floor and the meeting rooms are on both floors two and three. The second floor is accessible by a chair lift.

The majority of the tour is not accessible to wheelchair users, or prams and baby pushchairs.

If you are a wheelchair user interested in our heritage tour, please contact us and we will be happy to make private arrangements for you to meet our guides and reach the accessible areas.

We are open 7 days a week from 10 am until 5 pm. All access to the waterwheel and windmills is by guided tour, with the last tour at 4pm. Get in touch with any questions you have ahead of your visit.
