The Watermill Cafe

The Watermill Café at Skerries Mills, Home Baking at its Best.

Skerries Mills’ history goes all the way back to the 13 th century, when wheat, oats

and barley were milled here. There has been a bakery at the Mills since 1840. We’re proud to carry on the tradition of producing wonderful baking at the Watermill Café in

the old watermill building, along with creating great brunch and lunch dishes, all

freshly made here in the mill kitchen.

Breakfast and Brunch at the Watermill

A favourite with Skerries locals and day-trippers alike, the Watermill Café is known for its

great breakfast and brunch. Try out our all-day breakfast with our own Mills

Brown Bread, made here at the café or sample one of our daily specials for a delicious brunch.

All featuring local sustainable ingredients.

Home Baking

We’ve gained a bit of a reputation in Skerries as the go-to place for the best in

traditional and not-so traditional baking. So whether you choose our home-made

apple tart or scones or fancy one of our luxury slices or creative cakes, you will want to come back again. From warm cheese scones smothered in butter, and the popular almond tarts to rocky road, generously sliced fresh pavlova and everything in between, we’ve got some wonderfully baked treats for every taste.

We’re passing on traditional baking skills and marrying heritage and hospitality in a

community café that’s all about delivering on taste and great service.

The Perfect Lunch Spot

If you’re thinking of somewhere different for lunch, how about a heritage site with

windmills, a wonderful community garden and a beautiful historical building to dine

in? Add to that some locally produced food and some of the best baking in Dublin

and you’ve got the perfect lunch spot, here at the Windmill Café. Relax with a glass

of wine and dishes sprinkled with herbs from our own garden and baking from our

oven. No need to book in advance. Families can discover a hidden gem with good value children’s meals, further complemented by many amenities on the doorstep.

Outdoor Dining

While away some time on the Willow Terrace overlooking the Community Garden as you enjoy some local, sustainable, delicious food. Increasingly popular with groups of friends for a relaxed catch-up lunch or coffee, the Terrace is a little oasis of North Dublin.

Art at the Café

While you’re at the Windmill Café take in the wonderful art exhibitions we run.

Changing every few weeks, we feature the work of local artists and creators, so,

you’ll often see some striking new pieces on the walls. Skerries Mills is also home to

art and silversmith studios. Find out more about Art at the Mill here.

day-to-day work. We believe in taking care of the wonderful setting we are in and we
